I’d like to introduce you to my “fictional” Digger the Garden Dog. Years ago, shortly after starting Paws In The Garden I created a fictional dog character named Digger. I made stuffed “Digger” dog toys and envisioned a world created around this dog. So, six years ago when I discovered a passion for watercolor painting, I knew it was time to bring Digger to life. There was one problem, I couldn’t quite see his face. Then in 2017 after the loss of our beloved Golden, Flame, we decided to get a Golden puppy as a companion for our remaining Golden, Fire. The litter was born, and it was time to start thinking of a name for our new puppy. I’m a firm believer in receiving messages from God, you know, those light bulb moments that are crystal clear. I heard the quiet voice inside say, “This is your Digger”. Digger came to us at 8 weeks old in the Spring of 2018 and I now had a face to put on Digger the Garden Dog.
Here’s a little bit of the fictional Diggers story. He lives at Paws In The Garden. He is a garden guardian of sorts; he protects the animals and plants that live and thrive there. He believes in living in the moment, exploring the world inside and outside the garden. He loves trying new things and exploring new places. He values his friends more than anything and loves to hear the stories of what makes their souls sing. He believes we are all here for different reasons. Digger believes to be of service to others through simple kindness and compassion is the most blessed gift we can offer. Watch this space as I’ll be introducing Digger’s friend and their stories in future posts.
Be golden good,
Karen
